Sunshine Vox Box

I got my Sunshine VoxBox a few weeks ago and it had a lot of great stuff in it!
  • Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Spray
  • Sinful Colors nail polish in Ocean Side
  • Infusium 23 Leave in Treatment with Avocado and Olive Oil
  • Dickinson's Witch Hazel Cleaning Cloths (and some coupons)
  • A coupon for a free bag of Bark Thins, I got the Blueberry Quinoa variety
  • Blue Diamond Sriracha Almonds

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray: The Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe spray lotion spray smells great, it's light, quick, easy to apply, and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue. The smell is kind of strong but it fades quickly. Unfortunately it's not heavy enough for my super dry skin, even with the summer humidity. This would be great for people who want light moisture without getting it on their hands or leaving a greasy feeling.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Ocean Side: I love Sinful Colors nail polish. It comes in a huge variety of colors, is available at most retail stores and pharmacies, and it's inexpensive. My favorite pink (24/7) comes from Sinful Colors. Unfortunately the polishes vary greatly in quality, consistency, etc. I love this color, but that's where it ends. It took about 3 coats to achieve opacity, but it started chipping at about the 3 day mark. When I removed the polish it stained my nails and skin horribly. My fingers were blue. Really blue. The blue scrubbed off after a long bath. I'll probably use this color again, and I'll definitely buy more Sinful Colors polish. It's not perfect but for the price it's too good to pass up.

Infusium23 Leave In Conditioner: I loved this product. I used it in my hair while it was wet and allowed it to air dry. My hair has a good bit of damage from bleach and color, but I always air dry and I never use heat styling. I used this as a leave in conditioner and styling product. It made my hair smooth and frizz free and helped it hold a little more curl than normal. It does have a smell but it's kind of herbal and wears off quickly. I don't use product often but I will reach for this when I do.

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Cleansing Cloths: I am not a fan of cleansing cloths. I use them and my face never feels clean. I have combination skin but my face is super clear, I never break out. I get dry patches on my nose and eyebrows but the rest of my face is oily. Unfortunately this immediately made my skin a lot dryer so I didn't continue to use it. However, I have hidradenitis suppurativa and the wipes seemed more effective on that skin inflammation. The wipes were refreshing and while they do smell, again, it's just sort of herbal. ALSO be careful if using these on broken skin, it can burn.

BarkThins Blueberry Quinoa with Agave: I'm not a fan of dark chocolate, really, but these are good and a lot of my friends REALLY wanted to try them after they saw the picture. I like the combination of flavors, but I'm not sure I would buy them again. Dark chocolate is way too bitter for my palate but the quinoa was crunchy, and the blueberries sweet and chewy, it was a great combination if dark chocolate is your thing.

Blue Diamond Almonds BOLD Sriracha:  I can't eat spicy things so I gave these to James. He ate them before I could take a picture. I did eat two almonds and they were SO GOOD. I couldn't eat more because they really were spicy, but they had a ton of flavor. Chili, garlic, it wasn't JUST heat. If you like spicy things, if you like sriracha, if you like almonds, try these. Seriously.

There was an incident...

Yesterday was shot day. Three pens, as expected, no big deal. Except one of my pens misfired. The needle didn't even touch the skin. I pressed down, counted to ten, pulled it away, and the Humira started spraying. I put my hand over the end to catch to fluid so that it didn't spray all over the carpet. According to the Humira rep with AbbVie this is a normal mechanical failure. I explained the incident, gave them some info from the package, and as soon as they confirm with my doctor a new pen will be on the way. I have extras in the fridge, so no lapse in dosing. Still, injecting is anxiety inducing enough without equipment failure. The other problem: I noticed two lumps in my right arm pit on Thursday morning. Around 9 AM it was the size of a ping pong ball. I sat in Sus' house all day while she cleaned, unable to help her because the building pain was just too much and movement would only make it worse. By dinner time it was roughly the size of a tennis ball, and more...

Humira, Life at 120MG

I took two pens on Thursday (6/29/17) and another one today (6/30/17) and I am EXHAUSTED. No idea if it's helping yet, but the shots seem to make me hungry. Reminder: I am on Humira for Crohn's Disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, psoriasis, and polymyalgia rheumatica.
